YOUTH MINISTRY

Continuing the religious education goals established through the Parish Religious Education Program, comprehensive youth ministry at Assumption B.V.M. encourages fully initiated youth in grades 9-12 to make meaningful, lasting connections to their Church.

Age-appropriate opportunities exist in the areas of:

  1. Worship/Liturgy:  the Shopkeepers Music Ministry, Altar Servers and Lectors.

  2. Justice/service:  the Guardians, PREP Catechist/Aides, Sacrament Retreats, Vacation Bible School and the parish Spaghetti Supper

  3. On going formation in Christ: Various teen formation series

  4. Community/social -J4T - Just for Teens events.

These connections are designed to:

  1. Empower young people to live out their call to discipleship

  2. Encourage youth to willingly assume the responsibility of participating in the Church's mission

  3. Allow each young person to experience personal and spiritual growth through Christian friendships and associations.

If you care about the preservation of human dignity and want to do something positive to combat violence and poverty around the world, join The Guardians, ABVM's teen social justice ministry.  This group is for 9th through 12th grades.

If you play a musical instrument, enjoy singing and want to lead the music ministry at Mass, consider The Shopkeepers.  Students with group performance experience in grades 7 through 12th can join.

Various service and faith formation opportunities will be available throughout the year.  Watch the bulletin for information to sign up.
